As a Riordan enthusiast, I must admit that The House of Hades is darker than some of his other works, such as the Heroes of Olympus series. However, it still manages to deliver an engaging narrative with memorable characters. Frank and Hazel's journey in the Underworld is particularly captivating, while Percy and Annabeth's escape through the Doors of Death is a heart-pumping moment.

One aspect that sets this audiobook apart is Nick Chamian's narration. While some listeners may have mixed opinions about his performance, I appreciate his ability to bring distinct voices to life, especially Leo's cheeky tone and Nico's solemn funeral voice. However, I can understand why some readers might find it difficult to adjust to his narrative style.
